Character Name: Kate Argent
Series: Teen Wolf
Age: 28
From When?: 1.12 Right before her throat was ripped out

Inmate/Warden: Inmates- Kate has issues. She's a gun toting psychopath and she needs a dramatic change in perspective. She believes that all werewolves are monsters and that she has the right to hunt in kill them in anyway she deems necessary but fails to see where her ruthless and murderous acts are monstrous.
Item: N/A

Abilities/Powers: She's a skilled huntress with combat training, she's clever and perceptive, skilled with weaponry, melee, and she's highly intelligent, but she's a human and has human limitations.

Personality:

When it comes to hunting, Kate is ruthless, relentless, manipulative, and borderline (if not completely) sociopathic. The violence, power, and control she exhibits from her work is sexually charging for her. She loves the hunt and she couldn't care less about the hunter's code, because all being a hunter means to her is having a license to kill. She's a sadistic and cruel woman.

Her habits were influenced by her father, Gerard who was a ruthless and unbending brutish man. He taught her that all werewolves were monster and enemies. He taught his children to believe that if they were ever to be bitten by a an alpha, that they were no longer themselves and the only thing left for them to do was kill themselves before they completed their transition.

She learned how to manipulate, maim, torture, but above all, compartmentalize her actions and justify them. Kate truly believes that she has a reason to be so hateful and unyielding in her ways; she's blissfully ignorant of anything that goes against her brainwashed teachings and reveals in the rush she gets by doing what she does best; killing.

She's remorseless, witty, and sarcastic; but she takes most things with a grain of salt and can hold her own. She's not overly emotional and she enjoys a good laugh, she probably finds herself funnier than most people find her but she never seems to care.

However, when it comes to her niece, Kate is like a cool older sister. She's energetic and fun, offers understanding and guidance; and she genuinely cares about her well-being. But, she's also no-nonsense and doesn't take anyone's bullshit. She won't hesitate to call someone out on a lie or make them feel uncomfortable. Toughest cookie in the jar, that one.

She's also charismatic, smart, and she knows her way around a gun. She won't hesitate to shoot your ass if you get in her way, so don't do that. She doesn't care if you're a man, woman, or child; if she has it in her mind to kill you, she's going to do it.

Kate once said that "you don't have to be psychotic to be a killer, you just need a reason." In Kate's case, her reason was that she was psychotic. Kate is a killer and she likes it that way. It gives her life purpose.

Barge Reactions:

Kate has a dominant personality and likes to always be one step ahead of the people around her so she would do her best to figure out everyone around her and find out what their strengths and weaknesses are and exploit the weaknesses and use them to gain an advantage.

She would do everything in her ability not to allow herself to become submissive to those around her, especially other inmates but she's smart enough to pick her battles. Kate is a fighter, but she doesn't fight all the time with everyone and she doesn't like to lose and wouldn't willingly place herself in a losing situation. In a sense, she "knows when to hold'em, fold'em, and walk away" and if she does walk away, she will always come back and when she does, it's because she has a plan.

She would take to people who took to her as long as they were human and/or easily manipulated, her prejudices lie with supernatural creatures. If she encounters creatures, especially werewolves, she'll be antagonistic. Kate's not one for making friends, as much as she is for making allies. If someone on the barge is useful to her, she'll use them with a smile.

She's never been on a barge before but she adapts quickly. As a hunter, she was trained to always be prepared to handle herself in dire conditions and deal with the unexpected as it comes to survive.

Path to Redemption:

Kate's redemption- Kate was brainwashed to hate all werewolves by her nutjob father, Gerard but she was killed off (in canon) before she was able to find out that he was a giant hypocrite and he secretly wanted to be a werewolf himself. Kate's whole life was based on a lie, all of her hatred and prejudice that was fed to her throughout her life was all manufactured by a man who didn't even believe his own principles. Kate's family was also close and she had a good relationship with her niece Allison, and yet Gerard was willing to sacrifice Allison's life in order to get what he wanted from the werewolves.

Breaking Kate down at her foundation and exploiting the fact that her entire life's purpose was a lie would open her up.

History:

Kate was raised in a family of werewolf hunters that swore to follow a strict code of honor. "We hunt those who hunt us" <- That's the English version, the original is in French. Basically that just meant that as long as werewolves weren't killing people, the hunters weren't killing the werewolves plain and simple.

Given the fact that her father Gerard is later shown to not give any ...cares... at all about the code (or his daughter/family in the long run), we're lead to believe that Kate most likely grew up in an emotionally distant environment in which she was constantly trying to gain her father's approval by following in his psychotic brutal callous hunting footsteps.

That being said, when she appears on the show for the first time, she's being chased down by the alpha werewolf. She gets out of her car and unfortunately Derek is there because he was chasing the alpha at the same time and when Kate gets out of her car, she shoots Derek in the arm with a wolfsbane laced bullet.

She hunts down Derek and it soon becomes clear that she and Derek have shared a romantic past not unlike Scott and Allison's. It's revealed that Kate seduced Derek and used him to find out where the rest of his family was so she could burn his house to the ground, killing almost everyone inside of it, humans included.

While Kate's in town, she stays at her brother Chris's house and bonds with her niece Allison, with whom she has a close relationship. She teaches Allison about her lineage and teaches her how to use weapons. Kate's methods are cruel and make Allison uncomfortable and conflicted, since her boyfriend was a werewolf.

Derek's uncle Peter Hale was among one of the few survivors. It turns out that he's the alpha wolf terrorizing Beacon Hills and seeking revenge against Kate for starting the fire. He tears out her throat after forcing her to apologize for setting the fire, in exchange for Allison's life.

Sample Journal Entry:

Well I've heard that all dogs go to Heaven but this is overkill, don't you think? I've seen worse digs, but I'll admit, I'm kinda disappointed. I pictured more bondage, hellfire, and red mustachioed men and less Captain Hook and Peter Pan's Lost Boys voyage to Nevernever Land. That could've been fun.

So which one of you strapping young boys gets to be Tinkerbell?

Sample RP:

Her heart pounded frantically against her chest. Her forehead was slick with sweat as her mortified niece stood frozen in the doorway staring. The burning pressure around her windpipe increased as shallow breath squeezed its way past the claws that the alpha werewolf would use to tear her throat out in a matter of seconds while Allison watched.

That was it. That was how it was going to end and for the first few days in this hell, she was sure it had. She'd quickly learned otherwise.

Kate fingered the collar of her jumper as she inspected her reflection in the smudged spoon from her breakfast tray. The night before had come and gone and she was still here in one piece, throat in tact. She placed it back down and took a bite of toast and leaned back on the bench as she peered around the crowded eating area and sighed.

Her death last night had only been a nightmare, her apparent incarceration on this ship was her reality, however temporary that reality may be. Her family had connections and they knew their way around the law like it was nobody's business. Under normal circumstances, she'd give it a week tops before her lawyer found a way to get her out of this godforsaken place, but since this was an atypical situation, she'd have to take care of it herself.

Well, she always did enjoy a challenge.
